This market will resolve to "Yes" any portion of Canada is formally annexed into the United States of America and becomes the 51st state between December 17, 2024, and June 30, 2025, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". An official agreement that is announced will suffice to resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when it is slated to go into effect. If any territory that includes no portion of Canadian land is made the 51st US state within this market's timeframe, this market will immediately resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the government of the United States, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
what da hell
Anyone voting yes is either high af or stuck in the Trump echo-chamber lol. That being said, i'll put $1 on it, can't pass up those ridiculous odds.
Now that PP is running by-election in Alberta, there is no way Alberta can join the US...
Why? PP isn’t popular in Alberta.
AB premier the day after the election just dropped the threshold for calling a referendum on separation from 600K signatures to 177K. Alberta is going to join the US
AB prosperity project already has 100k registrants committed to sign the petition in 48 hours. They’ll register a petition with Elections Alberta when they hit 170K threshold
you're holding the bag and grasping at straws. there's a literal 0% chance this happens "before July" lol
the copium huffing is so strong its almost embarrassing to look at
Trump supposed to be in Alberta for mid June G7 Summit. I expect a referendum to join the US before that
realistic
These odds should got up drastically after Carney wins, cuz Alberta is for sure leaving after that.

The Question is wrong it should be will Alberta leave Canada the USA doesn’t want all of Canada they tea want Alberta Saskatchewan they would take BC just to have a easy way to get to Alaska
Yes voters. This is a sovereign state that will not capitulate. You have grown to accustom to seeing outlandish statements normalized by Combover Caligula. We won't go quietly,
Bubs, I know you don't like it, but it's gonna be a war soon, we gotta keep a level head, for the good of Sunnyvale. You know how it is in Canada these days -- freedom 95 -- if the Americans wanna come they can come....I'll be fucked if they're takin my weed though, bubs.
In all seriousness... Trudeau just secured animosity... We all love to talk a big talk about how we'll endure the tough times for however long it takes, but live through a few months of the great depression, throw in a trade war very foreseeably progressing to boots on the ground... You really don't know how you'll react. As they say, society is only ever 3 meals from anarchy.
Just some Canadian humour...I was referencing trailer park boys ;)
what a boneheaded post. todays a new day. thats like saying we lost to the mavericks twice so we cant win now.
betting yes on this is chasing a black swan with a pig's nose
1st of July becoming a 4th of July won't be a big change.
Yes == WW3
There's zero chance of this happening before July! Set a realistic timeline for people who want to speculate on the possibility!
What about an invasion/? Public sentiment in Canada isn't as opposed to this as you might expect.
Like 15 percent that number would go down in an armed conflict
nigga you stupid asf
There is an absolute zero% chance this happens. People in neither country want it. Trump is just playing a werid game by even saying it. Even if Trump is serious about wanting to expand American Territory why wouldnt he go for the much easier and justifiable targets in the South like Mexico. Even if it did happen, theres no way Canada would be admitted as 1 state as it is literally almost 2 million sq km bigger than the Continental US (bigger than every other state combined) and more people than the Largest state in the union, therefore giving it he most electoral votes of all states.
It's real

Never in the history of the US has a state been admitted that fast. It looks Texas 8 months post annexation, but annexation took 9 years. The fastest territory to join was Alabama at two years between becoming a US territory and a US state.
He say An official agreement that is announced will suffice to resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when it is slated to go into effect.
And yet, that has also never happened that quickly in US history. This is to say nothing of the fact that there is no way that both countries would have the votes for it. It's wildly unpopular.
already in motion
Trump say in truthsocial: We pay hundreds of Billions of Dollars to SUBSIDIZE Canada. Why? There is no reason. We don’t need anything they have. We have unlimited Energy, should make our own Cars, and have more Lumber than we can ever use. Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable Country. Harsh but true! Therefore, Canada should become our Cherished 51st State. Much lower taxes, and far better military protection for the people of Canada - AND NO TARIFFS! [link removed]
Canada wants it, and Trudeau is finally leaving
