On August 21, RFK Jr.'s campaign announced that the candidate will address the nation on Friday, August 23, 2024. This market will resolve to "Yes" if Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announces that he will vote for Donald Trump or endorses Trump for President of the United States during his Friday address. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No". If Robert F. Kennedy Jr. does not give a public address on August 23, 2024 ET, this market will resolve to "No". If Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorses Trump before his public address and then reiterates his support during his address, this will qualify. However, endorsements directly before or after the address will not qualify alone - he must mention his support of Trump during the address. The resolution source for this market will be live footage of the address or official information from RFK Jr. and his campaign, however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
"and now to throw my support to President Trump" If he said this during the address isn't that a beyond clear endorsement? Whatever else he says regarding voting for him in non battleground states seems irrelevant to me.
I won this bet but it actually feels wrong. I support you guys morally.

Good luck genius
Someone in the UMA discord for proposal #08118 said that Polymarket's source wasn't from the speech so it should resolve no....interesting....
For me there are 3 proposals visible in the side bar. I can't type but can see what they say
Cmon poly :/ ts gey
“My name will remain on the ballot in most states. If you live in a blue state, you can vote for me without harming — or helping — President Trump or Vice President Harris. In red states, the same will apply,” he said. “… But, in about 10 battleground states, where my presence would be a spoiler, I’m going to remove my name, and I’ve already started that process and urge voters not to vote for me.”
He is going to remain on the ballot in most states. The states where he could ruin the battle he will remove his name and urge not to vote for him... Shouldn't he at this stage say vote for Trump if he actually endorsed him?
yeah, so this pretty much the definition of an *informal* endorsement
Ye are all trying to add a post hoc requirement about formality level hahaha
Yah, but I think paying attention to formalities is really important for past markets. My advice to people is to be very careful about technicalities on polymarket. This looks to be an exception.
Kind of annoying because RFK was clearly extremely careful about not endorsing Trump or using that specific language. This is an example of where a post written so technically becomes a problem. Had the post just said "Will RFK endorse or express support for Trump during his speech?" it would be a lot clearer. Technically the criteria wasn't met.
I think that muddies the water even more.... just now finding out about this controversy but if he said something like "I support trump on this certain issue" does that suffice? I think the problem here is actually not enough technical language explaining what will be counted as an endorsement and what won't.
We knew he was gonna support trump, but we thought that he’d probably endorse him probably being the special guest at his rally, so we voted NO, shammmmm
exactly, like i said on the other market: we all knew that he was always in it for Trump, but the argument for no was always that he would just stop short of formally endorsing him; which he did not do, smh
Formally endorse, casually endorse, whatever. He was wearing a suit&tie while endorsing him so it's formal.
I can throw my support at for the homeless, the blind, it’s different from a political endorsement, it has always been “I am endorsing …” in american politics, if kennedy is trump’s surprise guest and says “I AM ENDORSING TRUMP” it would count as an endorsement, this is so wrong, so disappointing from poly, shamelful
Disputeeee
@semi
what if you are asleep or at work, why are these dispute windows only two hours and not at least 24
Polymarket is going get sued pretty soon for these after-the-fact "additional context" posts lol
Is that even legal? Like wtf. Polymarket you really need lawyers to write these damn markets because they are too unclear and the rules leave too much ambiguity.
I love how casually "throwing" his support at trump is an endorsement. What a sham.
I know right?
Right choice
Come on. Go by the rules posted. This one was different than other RFK props because it was *specifically* about him endorsing during the speech, or reiterating endorsement that he made before the speech. Neither happened. No official endorsement during speech. No use of word endorse.
Right.
You guys keep saying it wasn't 'officially' or 'formally' endorsing
Holy scam
PLEASE SOMEONE DISPUTE, i will create a wallet for next time so i can start disputing!
Okay how did Bernie resolve to No then when he threw his support behind Harris and did not use the word endorsement. Rigged.
