This market will resolve to "Yes" if a US-initiated drone, missile, or air strike on the soil of Somalia is announced or credibly reported to have occurred between market creation and the listed date ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purposes of this market, a qualifying "strike" is defined as the use of aerial bombs, drones, or missiles (including FPV and ATGM strikes as well as cruise or ballistic missiles) launched by any United States operatives, including military forces, intelligence agencies, or other U.S. government operatives, that physically impact ground territory within the listed country. A strike on any area within the terrestrial territory (including rivers, lakes, ports, but excluding territorial sea) of the listed country counts. Missiles or drones that are intercepted and surface-to-air missile strikes will not be sufficient for a "Yes" resolution, regardless of whether they land in the listed country’s territory or cause damage. Actions such as artillery fire, small arms fire, ground incursions, naval shelling, or cyberattacks will not qualify. Any strike occurring during this market’s timeframe that is claimed by either Donald Trump or the U.S. government will qualify. The primary resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting and government sources. This market may remain open until the end of the second day after the resolution time. If the date/time of a qualifying strike cannot be confirmed by a consensus of credible reporting by that time, it will resolve to "No" regardless of whether a strike was later confirmed to have taken place.
The result is fake, i think even the news report is fabricated by someone - i mean how difficult is it to buy a domain and become a news channel.
Scam
where they strike? it is a fake
africom is not fake. it qualifies as official source.
[link removed] that's what caused the spike probably
Hey how do you get access to sources like this?
I am probably incorrect, but i can not find anything online about an attack.
U.S. Africa Command AFRICOM confirmed conducting multiple operations over the past 48 hours: January 25 26, 2026: Airstrikes targeted al-Shabaab militants near Godane, approximately 58 km northeast of Mogadishu.
it was published a few hours ago in africom website abd another from a Somali newspaper a few days ago...weird stuff. i am not going to say what my paranoid mind came up with, lol

I think there is a high level of confusion about strikes happened after 23JAN, which is none atm
A further drone strike happened on the 25th, the 24th one is ambiguous I agree

FAKE NEWS
Based on that article, best case is that it occurred on January 24th Somali time (GMT+3).But because AFRICOM tends to only give date with no time, and is ambiguous about time zone, you really need them to say the strike was on the 25th to be absolutely sure it's after the creation date. That is Jan 23, 2026, 7:50 PM ET = Jan 24, 3:50 AM Somali Time, so if AFRICOM just says Jan 24 it leaves open the possibility it occurred before the creation date (between midnight and 3:50 AM Somali time on the 24th). It's possible AFRICOM are actually using a different timezone (their HQ is in Germany of all places, which is GMT+1, GMT itself is another possibility), but unless they are using a North American time zone, or they start giving times not just dates, it doesn't actually solve the ambiguity problem. And everyone else is even vaguer than AFRICOM. I do believe there will be another strike before the deadline, but it's not locked in yet.
Us drones active in ongoing operations
Yes, I found that earlier, now we wait for AFricom :)
no 100%
It’s clear the new 'Hawkeye' doctrine isn't playing around.
