This market will resolve to "Yes" if Andrew Cuomo publicly announces a campaign for the 2025 general election for public office under a party affiliation other than the Democratic Party (including as an independent or third-party candidate) by July 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET. This includes running as an independent or as a candidate for another political party. An official announcement from Cuomo will qualify regardless of if he actually runs. The primary resolution source for this market will be Andrew Cuomo, however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Announcing you’re going to make an announcement isn’t the same as an announcement, it’s not over yet. Especially considering he’s trying to get everyone else to agree to drop out based on future polling, an agreement they all have laughed at. Sure he may still announce and it’s likely over, but the next few days could see a dramatic change still.

im a bit confused, hes clearly announced hes running as independent and news has covered as well (CBS, same size/scale as BBC). Shouldnt this be hardline yes/resolved?
He hasn't formally announced he is running as an independent so the resolution criteria is not met yet
He hasn't though. Every news outlet sais he's going to run but as per the rules, since he hasn't publicly announced anything it can't be resolved yet. IIKR, the only thing he has said on record is something along the lines if "If we run in October we'll have to change things up ...", which hardly counts as a definite yes.
PSA: Read the rules and read the actual articles, not just the headlines
There were several outlets that over a week ago reported that he chose to stay on the balled but there isnt a credible consensus or clear announcement from Cuomo yet. If you read all the recent reporting you will see that Cuomo has lost most union support and deep pocketed donors to either Mamdani and Adam's respectively. I think the market is pricing that in.
