Elections for the parliaments of two German states, Thuringia and Saxony, are scheduled for September 1, 2024. This market will resolve to “Yes” if the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party officially joins the state government of either Thuringia or Saxony as part of a governing coalition as a result of the German elections held on September 1, 2024. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If both of these elections do not occur by December 31, 2024 ET, or if no new government is formed by that time, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the AfD association for each relevant state, however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Thuringia already has a new government without AfD. Today Michael Kretschmer (CDU) was re-elected and sworn in as prime minister of Saxony and tomorrow the rest of the CDU-SPD government of Saxony will be sworn in. After that, this market should resolve to No.

People are forgetting how democracy works. The most voted parties are meant to build a government. While the CDU (34.4%) hast just 0.4% more votes then the Afd (34%), it would be unforgivable to the population of Saxony, if they do not form a government with the Afd. People are just not rational when it comes to their smooth black & white nazi brains.

There is not a chance in hell anyone other than maybe BSW would even consider. And ur definitely overestimating the % of votes that AFD would get even in the most positve of outcomes.
